Windows Search 4.0
The search engine in Windows Vista is not as good as it could be. This one is much better. Download it, install it. You will not be sorry.

I've installed it but I can't notice any evident boost ;-)
Matbe the old sarch engine was't too bad. However a new search engine is better :-D
... and myITforum are reporting that it kills Outlook performance.

philip - WS 4.0 needs to recreate the index...but it should not be creating a problem. I'll point the WS people to that post.

You are a retard.
Just installed on my Vista machine (a nothing-special AMD duel core with 2 GB of RAM); search performance has improved quite clearly for me. Thanks.
If you guys could pull off a similar performance boost for the whole OS in Windows 7, you might see a Windows 95-esq customer enthusiasm.
The search in Win2k worked just fine - the engine XP was a step backwards.
The Search engine Vista redefined huge step backwards.
And you want me to install the next version? Mmmmmmm, lemme think about that one.
No freaking way.
Xepol - Why would you say that?
In what way do you find Vista's search capabilities to be lacking?
Property installed and configured you can limit it to search just the start menu and simulate the search in Vista for XP. Very handy.
this one works fine..not much difference though...
